For those of you who have followed my early career as a published artist with Washington Green, you may remember an image I painted at the beginning of the nineteen-ninties called ‘Anticipation’. It showed a liver and white English Springer with a lead in her mouth. With Ever Ready, I have re-visited this narrative, but by painting the background in black and white, whilst the dog is in full colour, I feel it gives a more contemporary twist to the piece.
This is Charlie and he also appears in an A/P edition I have produced from an Artko image, and which I have called ‘Walkies’
